Sixteenth Express Entry Draw: 1,517 Candidates Invited to Apply for Canadian Permanent Residence

The sixteenth draw for Canadian immigration through the Express Entry selection system has been performed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on September 8, 2015. A total of 1,517 invitations to apply(ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence were issued to candidates with 459 or more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

This draw from the Express Entry pool marks the seventh draw in succession in which a number of candidates without a qualifying job offer or an enhanced provincial nomination certificate were selected. It is also the seventh draw in a row in which more than 1,400 candidates were selected. This is also the first Express Entry draw that was not made on a Friday.

The recent trends in Express Entry have also seen draws being performed more regularly than earlier in the year. This is likely to continue, with CIC having recently stated in a mid-year Express Entry report that ‘Future rounds from the Express Entry pool will become the main source of applications to meet annual Canadian immigration levels targets.’
