305 Skilled Workers invited by Quebec Province through two Arrima draws

In December 2019, Quebec invited 305 candidates, through Arrima Application System. These candidates were selected from the two draws conducted in December.

Under Quebec’s Regular Skilled Worker Program, a total of 220 members were sent invitations through the draw held on 17th December 2019.Before that in early December, 85 candidates were invited to apply for a Permanent Residency in Quebec.

The people selected from early December carried a valid job offer or they were already residents of Quebec, serving in an official capacity as embassy officers, diplomats, agents of intergovernmental offices, etc.

The Arrima application system had been launched in July 2019 and since then, 9 draws have been conducted for Quebec immigration. Through these draws, 2062 candidates have been issued with the invitations to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate, which is called, Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ.

What is the Arrima System?

To manage a large number of candidatures that applyto the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) the Arrima system was introduced in 2018. Before that, the QSWP visas were given in paper based-form on a first-come, first-served basis to an Expression of Interest system.

The EOI (Expression of Interest) system manages the number of candidates, who apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate or Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ. This certificate is mandatory for anyone who wants to apply to Permanent Residence in Quebec through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

When the candidates create their profile in the Arrima system and express their interest in Quebec PR, they are placed in the pool of candidates and then they are given scores based on their various capabilities.

The ministry of Quebec Immigration grants invitations to the candidates to apply for a CSQ. The Ministry sends the invitations based on the skill set of the candidates or the requirements in specific fields of the regions of Quebec.

When a candidate receives a CSQ, he/she can apply for permanent residence in Canada. The Federal immigration ministry of Canada will verify the medical and criminal record of the candidate and if it gets satisfied will issue the visa.
