Expression of Interest Draw Invitation by Manitoba
On January 30, 2020, Manitoba has held a draw for Expression of Interest (EOI). This draw was to invite the candidates with nomination invitation for permanent residence. On the whole, 181 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) has sent out to candidates under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The no. of LAAs send to the following stream:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 124
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 39
- International Education Stream: 18
Invitation sent to 11 people out of 181 LAAs who had a valid Express Entry profile.
Eligible Express Entry Candidates get Manitoba Invitation
The Major program for economic immigration of permanent residency to Canada is Express Entry. Candidates going for Express Entry are allotted with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) based on the following factors:
- Official Language proficiency
In the subsequent draws, the invitation would be sent to the highest scores of the candidates to apply for permanent residency. With the provincial nomination, the candidate’s CRS score will boost up to 600 points. Thus enabling the candidate to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next immediate draw.
To get the nomination under this stream, the candidate should:
- Have a valid Express Entry Profile
- Eligible work experience in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations
Expression of Interest
For getting an invitation under provincial nomination from Manitoba through Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories, you need to register for Expression of Interest (EOI) in MPNP.
The online portal of EOI rank profiles out of 1000 points that can be gained through:
- Work experience
- Connections to Manitoba
- Proficiency in English or French
The highest-ranking candidates get LAAs and helping them to apply for permanent residency through Manitoba Provincial Nomination.
The lowest rank candidates under Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream have a score of 548 and Skilled Worker Overseas Stream have a score of 679.

The candidates allowed under the Skilled Worker Overseas category are selected if they can support the labour market.
The requirements for the Skilled Worker Overseas category are:
- Connection to Manitoba (family or friends)
- Work experience in the province
- Strategic Recruitment Initiatives invitation
They are not required to be physically present in Manitoba at the time of filing application for MPNP.
Under Skilled Worker Overseas Stream, around 39 candidates are invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative directly by the MPNP.
For Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category candidates invited must be working in Manitoba and must have a job offer (Full-time or Part-time) from an employer in Manitoba.
