Alberta 2nd Express Entry Draw on January 29, 2020
Last night Alberta released the details of both the draw held in January 2020 under Express Entry Stream.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) held the 1st draw on January 22, 2020, wherein they issued 201 invitations for provincial nominations. Here the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the candidates was over 350.
After 1 week, i.e., January 29, 2020, Alberta issued 150 invitations again under Express Entry to candidates with CRS score as low as 300.
The candidates with the federal Express Entry profile are eligible under Alberta Express Entry Stream of AINP. The Express Entry pool manages candidates profile for Canada immigration under the program:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
Once the candidates receive the nomination from Alberta upon approval, they will be awarded 600 points. These 600 points will be added to their previous express entry CRS score. Thus, this will guarantee their chances to get ITA in subsequent draws.
The main eligibility criteria for AINP is that the candidate should have minimum experience in the skills which provide support to the economic development and diversification priorities of the province.
AINP does not provide any in-demand occupation list.
AINP gives the advantage to the candidates with below three aspects:
- Job offer and/or experience in Alberta
- Degree from Canadian university/college and valid job offer
- Parent, sibling or child living in the province
On the whole, Alberta invited a total of 501 Express Entry candidates for January in 2020.
