The third Express Entry draw of the month was held by IRCC. So far, 7,875 ITAs have been issued in April 2024.
On April 23, 2024, the federal government of Canada invited another 2,095 to apply for Canadian permanent residency through the Express Entry system. It was a general draw and invited candidates eligible for any 1 of the 3 Express Entry programs. The minimum score requirement was CRS 529.
The ranking score is different from the Canada Express Entry eligibility calculation. You must score 67 points to be able to create an Express Entry profile. However, once you enter the EE pool, you will be ranked per the Comprehensive Ranking System which allots a score given on a total of 1,200 points. This will be your “CRS score”.
Express Entry invitations to apply are sent out to those with the highest CRS score. While any specific draw criteria is also applicable, the ranking score is usually the deciding factor for selection.
16 Express Entry draws have been held so far in 2024. This is the 294th Express Entry draw to be held since the launch of the program in 2015. The first Express Entry draw was held on January 31, 2015.
34,570 ITAs have been issued in the 16 rounds of invitations held so far in 2024.
Overall, in the year 2024, Canada will grant Canadian permanent residency to 485,000 foreign nationals.
The annual admissions targets for 2024-2026 were announced on November 1, 2023. Every year, the Canadian government releases their immigration targets for the coming 3 years. The latest announcement came in the form of 2024-2026 Immigration Levels Plan.
110,770 Canada PR visas will be issued in 2024 under Canadian Express Entry. 117,500 will get Canadian permanent residency by Express Entry in 2025, followed by another 117,500 in 2026.
