On Thursday, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited 95 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
The BC PNP issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Tech Pilot Draw. The invitations were issued to candidates who applied under the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories.
The candidates under the International Graduate and Skilled Worker subcategories had to score a minimum provincial score of 80 points.
British Columbia has held 12 draws so far in 2021 and invited a total of 1,926 candidates this year. The invited candidates now have 30 days to apply for the provincial nomination.
The Tech Pilot Draw is a fast-track invitation pathway used by BC PNP to invite tech workers whose occupations are in demand in British Columbia.
It was launched in 2017 to combat the labour shortage in the province’s tech sector. The Tech Pilot has been extended several times over the years, most recently till June 2021.
To apply for the Tech Pilot draw, the candidates must be registered in any of BC’s immigration streams and have an employment offer in any of the following occupations:

Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination from British Columbia get an additional 600 CRS points to their CRS score.
Therefore, they are guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in subsequent Express Entry draws.
Express Entry draws are generally held on a bi-weekly basis. Over 4,000 immigration candidates are invited to apply for permanent resident status in every draw.
