On September 28, Canada held its 267th Express Entry Draw, inviting 600 candidates to apply for immigration. This draw focused on individuals with experience in Agriculture and Agri-food Occupations, marking a significant step in Canada’s efforts to attract skilled talent for its booming agriculture sector.
Express Entry is an online portal to manage Canadian permanent residence applications from skilled foreign workers.
Candidates with a ranking score - per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) - as minimum as 354 received Invitations to Apply (ITA). The draw prioritized the Agriculture and Agri-food Occupations Category, targeting roles such as:
Canada recognizes the need for skilled workers in the Agriculture and Agri-food sector. By inviting candidates with experience in this role, the country aims to meet the growing demand for proficient workers in this industry, which exported nearly $92.8 billion in agricultural produce globally in 2022. Similar Express Entry draws will continue throughout the year, running alongside general and program-specific invitation rounds.
The latest round of invitations is the third Express Entry draw to be held in three consecutive days. Yesterday, on September 27, 500 candidates with a minimum CRS of 472 were invited from the French-speaking proficiency category in EE Draw #266. On September 26, 3,000 candidates were invited in an all-program draw with a minimum CRS of 504.
Express Entry draw on September 28 marked a significant milestone as the first ever category specific draw for Agriculture and Agri food occupations.
