International Experience Canada: 4,643 Invited in Latest Round of Invitations

In the week ending February 11, 2024, Canada issued 4,643 invitations to apply under International Experience Canada (IEC). Those invited can now apply for their Open Work Permits.

Previously, on December 11, 2023, an announcement was made that International Experience Canada (IEC) 2024 Opens for Applications.

Over 30 countries are eligible for the IEC pathway for a Canadian open work permit. There are three separate routes under IEC -

  1. Working Holiday
  2. Young Professionals
  3. International Co-Op (Internship)

How many IEC invitations in 2024?

Invitations issued in 2024 had 33,184 invited under the IEC Working Holiday route. Another 257 were for Young Professionals, with 1,390 for International Co-Op (Internship).

How many will get Canadian Work Permits under IEC in 2024?

In 2024, the target is that of inviting more than 74,000 applicants under IEC. An expression of interest (EOI) format is followed. Those selected are invited to apply and can submit their complete application.

Currently, around 80% of applications are processed within five weeks.
