IRCC Invites 7000 Candidates From All Programs

The Express Entry draw 243 issued 7,000 invitations from all programs. The minimum CRS score was 490 for the new draw.

IRCC followed the pattern program specifically for the last two months. The latest all-program draw was issued with a higher number of ITAs compared to the previous draw in January 2023. The January draw invited 5,500 candidates in January.

The all-program draw allows candidates from all three immigration programs: 

• Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
• Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

A large Number of Applications Through Express Entry

The Parliament Budget Officer (PBO) recently revealed that IRCC is seeing overstaffed applications till 2027. As a result, 80% of new applications should be processed within six months. For 2023, IRCC is 65% overstaffed which will decrease by 4% by 2027.

The estimation is based on the assumption that the immigration rate will continue to remain the same in the future. In that case, PBO expects 1,23,552 new immigrants to Canada through Express Entry by 2027.

Increased PNP Allocations in 2023

Canada has received instructions from Ministers Responsible for Immigration to increase the Provincial Nominations (PNP). On average, PNP allocations would increase by 44% in 2023.

IRCC allocates a specific number of nominations for each Canadian province and territory every year.

 Canada targets inviting 465,000 new immigrants in 2023. A total of 82,880 candidates are expected from regular Express Entry, and 105,00 candidates are expected from PNP streams.

When is the next Express Entry draw?

There is no specific schedule to reveal the future ER draws. However, IRCC follows a pattern of conducting the draws every two weeks on Wednesdays. Draws sometimes are held with more than two weeks of gap and sometimes within a shorter gap.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an online immigration system used by IRCC. EE calculates the eligibility of the candidates on a points-based Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The system operates three programs that include FSWP, FSTP, and CEC.

Applicants must create their Express Entry profile and submit the required documents. The documents include qualification certificates, work experience letters, English proficiency test results, etc. Eligible candidates will receive the invitation to apply for Canada permanent residence.
