Ontario Issues 2,086 Invitations Under OINP HCP

Canada’s Ontario province issues targeted invitations under one of the Express Entry linked streams.

On February 6, 2024, Ontario invited candidates under Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream that had experience in any of the 42 healthcare occupations. Ontario is a part of the Provincial Nominee Program. Canada PNP is a route to Canadian permanent residence with a provincial nomination as the first step of the process. Invitations by Ontario are issued through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

Ontario offers many routes to Canada PR visa. Some Ontario PNP streams are linked with the federal Express Entry system. Others run independently. The latest OINP invitations were under the HCP steam linked with Canada Express Entry.

The first OINP HCP draw to be held in 2024, the latest round of invitations had 2,086 notifications of interest (NOIs) issued. Linked with the Express Entry, the ranking score of the candidate was a deciding factor. The invitations went out to those Express Entry candidates eligible for the Human Capital Priorities stream who had a ranking score of CRS 379 to CRS 430 based on the Comprehensive Ranking System.

As it was a targeted draw, Ontario PNP issued NOIs to candidates in specific occupations.

What were the targeted occupations for the latest Ontario PNP HCP draw?

Candidates only received an invitation if they had -

A valid Express Entry profile,
Expressed an interest in being considered by Ontario for a nomination,
A score of CRS 379-430, and
Work experience in any of the 42 healthcare occupations.
