The Canadian province of Saskatchewan recently invited a record 633 immigration candidates to apply for a nomination under Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This is the largest draw held in 2021.

Eligible Candidates

After a two-month-long gap from holding draws for prospective immigrants, the province has invited candidates under the following categories:

  • Express Entry category
  • Occupations In-Demand category

Here is a table showing the particulars of the draw:

The province had set the same points requirement for candidates under any of these categories- an Expression of Interest score of at least 65 points and the same set of occupational requirements.

The candidates under both categories had to have Educational Credential Assessments and have occupations relevant to NOC codes 0711, 0016, 7242, 0712, 7294, 7231, 7281, 7243, 7201, 7371, 7203, 7235, 7283 and 7272.

SINP’s Express Entry

The Express Entry category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is an enhanced form of the federal Express Entry system and is for those candidates who want to increase their CRS score through PNP.

These candidates may have applied under any of Express Entry’s three federal immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

Occupations In-Demand

The Occupations In-Demand category is a basic form of PNP in that it is open to even those candidates who do not have a profile registered under Express Entry.

This category is for those skilled professionals who have experience in an occupation that is high in demand in Saskatchewan but do not have a job offer from an employer in the province.
