283 Express Entry Candidates Invited in the New Ontario PNP Draw

Ontario Invites new Express Entry Candidates in the latest PNP draw held on 2 February 2021. The selected candidates may be eligible for a nomination from the Human Capital Priorities Stream.

OINP Draw Results

A total of 283 immigration candidates from the Express Entry pool were selected to apply for provincial nomination.

Candidates receiving ITAs had their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 466 and 467 points.

Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (EE HCP)

Ontario’s EE HCP gives foreign workers with work experience an opportunity to permanently immigrate and settle in Ontario. The skills these candidates bring along through PNP are meant to fill shortages in the local labour market.

Occupations In-Demand

Express Entry candidates invited by OINP had work experience in the following 10 occupations.

All the invited Express Entry candidates have to demonstrate that they have at least one year of work experience in any of these occupations.

Three EE Immigration Programs

Express Entry is the federal application management system for three immigration programs.

• Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP)
• Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

IRCC awards points to all candidates in the Express Entry pool based on their human capital factors.

OINP & Express Entry

Candidates invited through OINP automatically get 600 additional points in their Express Entry profile. In turn, it guarantees them a chance to apply for Canadian immigration in the next Express Entry round.  

Therefore, candidates receiving provincial nomination are well-positioned to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

The Year Gone By

The year 2020 saw Ontario invite 6,716 Express Entry candidates for OINP through the Human Capital Priorities stream. 

Despite the pandemic, it was the most considerable portion of Express Entry-linked PNP nominations ever issued by Ontario province.
