All of the jobs available in the Canadian labour market have a unique four-digit code assigned to them, as per the National Occupational Classification (NOC)

The score taken into consideration for the invitations to be issued by Saskatchewan is the score allotted following the registration of the Expression of Interest profile with Saskatchewan PNP. This is also referred to as the EOI score of that candidate.

What are the SINP’s Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry pathways?

The Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry pathways of Saskatchewan PNP are for skilled foreign workers that possess the required education and work experience in an occupation in demand in the province. Saskatchewan Express Entry is linked with Canada's Express Entry system, the Occupations In-Demand pathway runs independently.

To be considered an in-demand occupation, it must fall under any of the following NOC levels -

  • Skill Type 0 (zero): Management jobs
  • Skill Level A: Professionals jobs, generally requiring a university degree
  • Skill Level B: Technical jobs, usually calling for a college diploma or apprentice training

Skill Level C: Intermediate jobs and Skill Level D: Labour jobs are not eligible for Saskatchewan’s Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry immigration pathways.

How does Saskatchewan PNP allot EOI points?

A kind of a pre-application, an Expression of Interest (EOI) is not an application to the SINP. An EOI is only a means of communicating to the province an interest in being considered for a nomination under Canadian PNP. An online form must be filled up by the candidate. Candidates that score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP Points Assessment Grid are then added to the pool of candidates. Candidates that score a minimum of 60 points on the SINP Points Assessment Grid are then added to the pool of candidates.

Factors assessed for SINP EOI score -

FACTOR I: Labour Market Success (maximum points - 80)

  • Education and training
  • Skilled work experience
  • Language ability
  • Age

FACTOR II: Connection to Saskatchewan Labour Market & Adaptability (maximum points - 30)

Maximum points on the SINP points grid - Factor I + Factor II = 110.

At least 60 points will be needed to apply for the International Skilled Worker category of Saskatchewan PNP. The pathway to apply for will be as per the individual circumstances of the applicant -

  1. International Skilled Worker: Employment Offer - if you have a job offer and meet the specific criteria.
  2. International Skilled Worker: Saskatchewan Express Entry - If you have an IRCC Express Entry profile and meet the specific criteria.
  3. International Skilled Worker: Occupations In-Demand - If you meet the criteria, but don’t have either an Express Entry profile or a job offer in Saskatchewan.

On March 7, 2022, Saskatchewan PNP has launched a new tech immigration program - the Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway - targeted at highly-skilled technology and innovation sector workers that have an offer for a skilled job in Saskatchewan.
