The BC PNP is intended to attract foreign specialists workers in high demand who want to become permanent residents.
The January 25 draw featured invitations through two streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
Minimum scores were 80 for all two streams. The featured streams were:
British Columbia invited 289 immigration candidates through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws held on January 25.
The province held two draws through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) and invited candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams.
Invitations were issued to those from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of SI and EEBC streams. The number and frequency of invitations to apply are based on annual nomination allocations from the Canadian federal government (IRCC).
Under BC PNP Tech, weekly invitations are issued to qualified registrants with valid job offers in the key technology occupations. The Tech draws refer to those invitations. If your work is not on the list of key technology occupations, you may still be eligible to apply.
BC PNP has two main immigration streams, Skills Immigration and Express Entry, divided into sub-categories. This stream is managed by the BC Immigration Skills Registration System (SIRS). To register through SIRS, you must first register an account. Once this is done, you will be given a score based on education, work experience, and language skills.
The candidate with the highest score in each sub-category is then invited to submit a provincial nomination to seek permanent residency when British Columbia holds one of its regular draws.
If you have accepted the invitation, you have 30 days from the invitation date to submit the complete application via the online BC PNP system.
Once you have submitted the complete BC PNP application, you will be notified of the provincial decision in about two to three months. If your candidacy is successful, you can apply to Canada for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) for the Provincial Candidate Class.
