Canada PNP: New Draw by PEI PNP Invites 113

Published on : April 3, 2023

Prince Edward Island (PEI) is the smallest Canadian province area-wise. There are diverse career opportunities available for immigrants that choose to settle within PEI as permanent residents under the PNP of Canada.

On March 30, 2023, Canada’s Prince Edward Island province issued another 113 invitations to apply. This is the 5th round of invitations by PEI so far in 2023. A total of 22 invitations rounds are to be held by the province in 2023 as per the anticipated annual draw schedule.

PEI is a part of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), a Canadian immigration pathway that has a 2-stage process to get Canadian permanent residence. Firstly, a nomination must be secured from any of the provincial or territorial governments that run their own PNPs. The Nomination Certificate can then be used to submit an application for a Canada PR visa to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

In the latest PEI PNP draw, invitations were issued only to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates. There were no Business Work Permit Entrepreneur Invitations.

What is the Labour Impact category of PEI PNP?

The Labour Impact Category of PEI PNP is a way to get Canada PR visa for eligible foreign nationals that have -

  • A valid job offer, and
  • Support from a PEI employer.

There are 3 separate categories under PEI PNP’s Labour Impact -

  • Skilled Worker Stream
  • Critical Worker Stream
  • International Graduate Stream

Each of the PEI PNP pathways has its own eligibility requirements. Registering an Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first part of the process to immigrate to PEI by the PNP route. An EOI is not a visa application. It is only a way to communicate an interest in settling in PEI PNP.

What is the PEI Express Entry Canada immigration pathway?

PEI Express Entry offers a route to Canadian permanent residence to those with a valid Express Entry profile with IRCC. PEI PNP lets you secure a PEI Express Entry nomination to settle in Canada as a permanent resident.

To be eligible for PEI PNP, you must have -

  • A valid Express Entry profile, and
  • An EOI profile with PEI PNP.

What is the stepwise process to get Canada PR by PEI Express Entry?

The basic stepwise process to acquire Canada PR visa through PEI Express Entry is as follows -

  • STEP 1: Create an Express Entry profile with IRCC
  • STEP 2: Create profile in Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest system
  • STEP 3: Receive invitation to apply from PEI PNP
  • STEP 4: Submit PEI PNP application
  • STEP 5: Get selected for PEI PNP nomination
  • STEP 6: Accept nomination through your MyCIC account online
  • STEP 7: Receive ITA by IRCC
  • STEP 8: Submit Canada PR application
