The Government of Canada has announced that it will allocate significant funds to facilitate immigration, which will help reduce application times.

In October 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) reported that the equivalent of immigration applications had risen to approximately 1.8 million, of which:

  • 548,195 asylum applications including 112,392 refugee applications.
  • 775,741 temporary residence applications (work permits, temporary visas, study permits, and visitor status).
  • 468,000 applications for Canadian citizenship.

Inside the 2021 finances, Canada allocated $ eighty-five million to lessen processing instances across all IRCC lines of enterprise. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also called on Fraser to reduce the mandate letter processing times.

Fraser is now announcing that the budget will permit Canada to go back to processing service standards to look at allows, paintings permits, and everlasting resident card renewals by the end of the yr. Canada is likewise running to lessen processing times for visitor visas and proof of citizenship.

New facts discovered that Canada admitted 46315 new permanent residents in October 2021. This turned into the most significant number of permanent citizens IRCC has ever accepted in a single month in modern Canadian immigration history. At this fee, Canada is on course to fulfill its immigration target of 401,000 people for 2022 – the highest number of newcomers targeted in 12 months.
