How can I immigrate to British Columbia under PNP?

You can settle in British Columbia as a permanent resident with a Canada PR visa granted based on a nomination under BC PNP.

The PNP of British Columbia allows the province to select and nominate foreign workers, entrepreneurs, and international students for Canadian permanent residence.

To be selected by BC PNP for a nomination, a candidate must be able to -

  • Meet the local labour market requirements,
  • Support priorities of the British Columbia government, and
  • Help grow the local economy.

Those nominated by British Columbia under Canadian PNP can settle in BC with their families. After a BC PNP nomination, the applicant and their family will have to apply for Canada PR visas to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

How many BC PNP nominations in 2022?

In 2022, BC PNP issued a total of 8,840 ITAs. Of these, 6,245 were successful in receiving a nomination, with a 70.6% conversion rate.

Of the total BC PNP nominations in 2022, around 53% were under the Skilled Worker stream.

British Columbia offers many opportunities to live and work as permanent residents. Selecting the right BC PNP pathway is important for those applying under BC PNP as Express Entry candidates.

A nomination by the province can improve your chances of being invited to apply by IRCC as an Express Entry system candidate.
