2021 Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC draws to date

The BC PNP Tech Pilot

The 09 February Tech Pilot draw saw the minimum score remain in low 80s. It has been so since the beginning of this year.

This category is a fast-track immigration pathway designed for in-demand tech workers and international students.

The project was initially launched in the year 2017 and has been extended several times.

Eligibility for BC PNP

Candidates need to be registered in one of the B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams to be eligible for this program.

They also need to have a valid job offer for at least 12 months in any of the 29 eligible occupations in Tech Pilot’s subcategories.

How to Apply?

Candidates must first create a profile on the BC PNP’s online portal. Then they should register under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) to apply for Skills Immigration or Express Entry B.C. categories.

Every applicant is subsequently evaluated and issued a score. It determines whether they could be invited to apply in a round. These scores are based on age, education, work experience, and whether they have an employment offer from an employer in British Columbia.

Provincial Nomination from British Columbia

Express Entry candidates receiving a provincial nomination from British Columbia get additional 600 CRS points in their profile. They are virtually guaranteed an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry round.

Federal Express Entry draws are typically held once every two weeks. Almost 4,000 immigration candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency every fortnight.

Six BC PNP Draws in 2021

British Columbia so far has seen 6 PNP draws in 2021. It has invited about 1,000 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

Candidates invited in the BC PNP draws have 30 days to apply for nomination.
