Express Entry Manitoba
Eighteen of the 272 LAAs issued went to Express Entry candidates. Their nomination will be refused if they do not have a job seeker validation code, verifiable experience in an occupation on Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupation List, and a valid Express Entry ID.
Express Entry candidates receiving a provincial nomination are automatically awarded 600 additional CRS points. It virtually guarantees them receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in the next Express Entry draw.
Manitoba’s Immigration Streams
Both the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream can be nominated if they can support the province's labour market needs.
However, foreign candidates will have to establish a connection with the province. It can be having friends, family ties, previous experience or an invitation to apply under MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba are also required to meet specific requirements. They should be having a full-time permanent job offer from an employer within the province.
Department in the Offing
On 5 January 2021, Manitoba announced that it is setting up a new department of advanced education, skills and immigration as part of the province’s recovery plan.
