OINP: Express Entry Notifications of Interest (NOIs) Are Issued

Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) always focuses on finding eligible candidates under Ontario's Express Entry immigration streams. The qualified candidates will receive a notification of interest through their Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) online account.

The Latest Tech Draw Issuance and The NOC Codes

There was tech draws issuance of notifications of interest by targeted occupations under Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream on December 19, 2022. The number of notifications of interest (NOIs) issued was 936 for the candidates with a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of a minimum of 484-490.

The OINP prioritized the candidates with a CRS of a minimum of 484-490. The targeted work experience was the list of NOC codes

  • Data Scientists - 21211
  • Software Engineers - 21231
  • Computer System Developers and Programmers - 21230
  • Software Developers and Programmers - 21232
  • Web Developers and Programmers - 21234
  • Web Designers - 21233
  • Database Analysts and Data Administrators - 21223
  • Computer Engineers - 21311

Before this, the Human Capital Priorities Stream was issued on September 28, 2022. The NOIs issued were 1,179 targeting the candidates with a CRS minimum score of 496 and above.

What is OINP?

Ontario's Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an exclusive economic program. It is part of the Canadian Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) among various Canadian provinces. This program is associated with Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Under this program, skilled foreign workers, international students and candidates from other categories can apply for the OINP's nomination. Eligibility is determined by the required skills, work experience and education. An eligible candidate may get qualified under nine different streams.

What are the nine streams of OINP?

To qualify under any OINP streams, a candidate must register an expression of interest. As a next step, you will receive an invitation to apply. Following are the OINP streams:

  • Employer Job Offer for Foreign Worker Stream

You can apply for this stream if you hold a job offer in Ontario as a skilled foreign worker.

  • Employer Job Offer for International Student Stream

You can apply under this stream if you are a recent graduate, along with a job offer in Ontario.

  • Employee Job Offer for In-Demand Skills Stream

Candidates can apply under this OINP stream with the status of foreign worker in a demand occupation and a job offer in Ontario.

  • Masters Graduate Stream

You can apply under this stream if you have graduated or hold a degree from any Ontario university.

  • Ph.D. Graduate Stream

Ph.D. holders from Ontario's university can apply under this OINP stream.

  • Human Capital Priorities Stream

To apply under this stream, you must also meet specific criteria of skilled work experience, education and language abilities.

  • Skilled Trades Stream

You can apply through the Skilled Trades System if you are a foreign worker with Ontario work experience in a required skilled trade.

  • French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream

This stream is an advantage for French-speaking foreign workers with high English proficiency. They are eligible to apply under this stream.

Canada Express Entry - Massive change is expected in 2023

As of now, Express Entry system draws are based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Currently, Express Entry invitations are issued to candidates with a CRS score of 1,200. From 2023, the criteria for Express Entry is expected to change wholly. The parameters like in-demand skills and abilities will be the prime focus to determine the eligibility of candidates. This change in the immigration system is going to help Canada to select candidates who can contribute to the country's economy.
