VFS Global gives Update on UK Priority Visa Service

Key update for those applying for a visit visa for the United Kingdom through VFS Global. Applicable to all VFS Global visa application centres worldwide.

On July 15, 2022, VFS Global announced an update regarding changes to be made to the Priority Visa (PV) service offered by UK Visas and Immigration, a part of the Home Office of the UK Government.

As per the update, changes have been made to the availability of Priority Visa (PV) service for new UK visit visa applications. The number of PV appointments have been reduced by VFS Global from July 15, 2022. Less slots for Priority Visa (PV) service for new UK visit visa applications will lead to more standard applications being processed, reducing the overall processing time for all applying for a UK visit visa.

The reduction in the availability of Priority Visa (PV) services will not affect Super Priority Visa (SPV) services. As per VFS Global, the appointment availability for SPV for new UK Standard Visitor visa applications will not be reduced.

At a VFS Global VAC, you can submit your -

• Completed visa application form,
• Biometric data, and
• Supporting documentation.

Priority Visa (PV) and Super Priority Visa (SPV) services are generally offered for faster processing.

Can I get priority services for my UK Visa?

As of now, priority and super priority services are only available for UK visit visas. As per VFS Global, priority and super priority services remain suspended for new -

• UK Study visas,
• UK Work visas, and
• Family applications.

What is the expected processing time for a UK visit visa?

Currently, visit visas for the UK are taking around seven weeks for processing. Some applications might take longer. However, three weeks is the processing standard. Under usual circumstances, you can expect a decision on your visa application within three weeks of attending a VAC appointment.

What are priority and super priority services for UK visas?

Priority and super priority services are available for UK Visitor visas on an appointment basis.

As of now, priority and super priority services remain suspended for new study, work, and family visa applications.

How many UK VACs are in India?

UK VACs are available in 14 cities in India.

Access to the VAC is restricted to visa applicants only. Children below 18 years of age should have a guardian or parent with them.
