401,000 Immigrants Needed In Canada - New Visa Plan

Published on : October 31, 2020

Canada has announced its immigration plans for the year 2021-2023 today. For the next 3 years, Canada is going to welcome over 1.2 million immigrants in its country. This is the first time in more than 100years that Canada has invited over 400,000 in a year. The last time was in the year 1913.

Under the new plan, Canada aims to welcome around 240,000 on two popular visa routes:

1. Federal Skilled Worker Visa
2. Provincial Nominee Program

The other includes family, refugees, and people accepted under humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Below is the immigration plan for the next 3 years.

2021: 401,000 Migrants

2022 : 411,000 migrants

2023: 421,000 migrants

This notification has come along with another announcement from Canada's largest province. Quebec is to welcome over 45,000 immigrants for the next year.

What does this historic announcement means to the Indians?

Canada's plan of inviting around 341,000 in 2020 was disrupted due to the pandemic. It was able to accommodate less than 100,000 in this year so far. To compensate for the lack of newcomers this year, Canada has increased its target until 2023.

This means that the Canadian government is likely to :

  1.   Hold more draws in comparison to the last 22 months.
  2. Increase the number of applicants selected in the Express Entry Pool.
  3. Fast-Track the visa process after the applicant receive the "invitation to apply".

Canadian Express Entry is the most popular visa program in Canada. The program requires you to score 67points. To know about your eligibility and points, send an email to us at info@kansaz.com
