The Canadian province of Alberta recently held a new draw, which invited 200 Express Entry candidates to apply for a nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The province issued Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates who had registered their profile under the federal Express Entry system and had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 343 points.
This draw is the latest of many more with a higher cut-off score than 300, the minimum criteria for eligibility for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
After resuming Express Entry rounds in January 2021, the province has now invited a total of 6,359 candidates to apply for the provincial nomination.
After the candidates receive the nomination certificate, they will get an addition of 600 points to their CRS score, ensuring them to be selected from the Express Entry pool in the subsequent draw.
The province has been allowed to invite 6,250 nomination certificates this year, but as the number has been crossed already, they may stop issuing any invitation for the current year.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream is an enhanced version of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Through this, it allows the provincial government to search the Express Entry pool for candidates who may be eligible for nomination.
To be eligible for receiving a nomination under AINP, the candidate must have had previous work experience from an occupation that has not been featured in the list of the ineligible occupations.
