On Wednesday, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited 95 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Tech Pilot Draw.

Invitation Categories

BC PNP invited the candidates under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories.

Under them, the candidates were invited from International Graduate and Skilled Worker subcategories. They required a minimum provincial cut-off score of 80 points.

In addition to the draw, the province also announced that it is extending the Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Regional Pilot program till 31st March 2024.

BC PNP Tech Pilot Draw

The Tech Pilot Draw is an accelerated immigration pathway for candidates who have the required skills in tech occupations and wish to live and work in Canada permanently.

The candidates must be registered in one of British Columbia’s provincial immigration streams to apply for the Tech Pilot Draw.

Unlike the other streams under BC PNP, which require a permanent job offer, Tech Pilot requires applicants to have a job offer for at least a year.

The job offer must be from an eligible employer in the province, must be full-time and have at least 120 days remaining at the time of application.

Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot

The Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot launched in 2019, allows British Columbia to work in sync with local communities with less population to invite immigrant entrepreneurs.

The targeted communities must be at least 30 kilometres from a population centre that has over 75,000 people.

The interested candidates must first complete a visit to explore the community where they wish to set up the business and get a referral from the community before registering for the pilot.
