Canada is all set to welcome Category-based selective Candidates across the World

Canada's second Express Entry round was formally announced on July 5. The second round of the Express Entry draw is open to candidates who are qualified for category-based selection. The authority further stated that the applicant's CRS score had to be 486. This most recent pool received 500 invitations altogether.

The good news is that there will be another invitation under which 1,500 health workers can apply for Permanent Residence, as per an additional report.

Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser has confirmed the finalization was based on the STEM experience candidates for the Express Entry draw. Labour market projection has influenced the current Express entry pool categories. IRCC Partners, Stakeholders and Provincial & Territorial governments also attribute their views to the categories selection procedure, as per the report.

The categories they have mentioned include:

• Healthcare
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics ( STEM) Occupations
• Trades include Carpenters, Plumbers, and Contractors.
• Transport
• Agriculture and Agri-Food
• Expert in the French Language

Applicants from several countries have been waiting for this category-based selection process to start since June last year. In 2022, the Canadian government officially announced the modifications to the Immigration And Refugee Protection Act, emphasizing key attributes which have specific experiences and add value to the labour market and the country's financial growth.

Eligibility to meet the Requirements

Not all STEM candidates are eligible to avail the invitations. You need specifications that make you stand out amid the millions of applications. Read the complete eligibility criteria carefully to avail of the invitation in the recent Express entry pool:

• You will receive the category-based invitation only if you are in the Express entry managed programs like Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, or the Canadian Experience Class.
• Top CRS ranking candidate can apply for the permanent residence permit ( even the top CRS ranking is applicable in all-program or program-specific draws)
• Candidates who have 6 months of continuous work experience for the last 3 years in Canada or another country in the listed occupations are eligible.
• For a French language expert, the candidate must have a minimum French language test score of 7 in all 4 language abilities like speaking, listening, writing, and reading.

IRCC invited 700 applicants for the All-Program draw on July 4 in a surprise draw. Additionally, an All-Program draw takes into account Express Entry applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker Programme, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Programme. Candidates must have a CRS score of at least 511, they added.
