Around 60,000 visas for skilled workers were allotted to foreign nationals in 2021 under Germany's Skilled Workers Immigration. The German Skilled Workers Immigration Act came into being fully effective in 2020 March. From March until December 2020, almost 30,000 visas were issued to qualified workers and trainees from third countries during the first nine months.

This shows that the number of skilled workers and beginners who benefited from Germany's Immigration Act in 2021 increased by around 50% compared to 2020. A work visa is issued to those who have completed vocational training in Germany or an equivalent course from elsewhere recognized in Germany.
