Prince Edward Island Issued 195 ITAs in the Latest Draw

PEI PNP held the last scheduled draw of the year on 17 December 2020.

This PEI PNP draw was aligned with Canada’s federal Express Entry system.

A total of 195 invitations were issued to candidates from Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories.

Minimum Point Threshold

The minimum points threshold for the 17 December 2020 draw was 85 points.

While the Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates took 174 ITAs, most of the invitations from the draw, the Business Impact candidates took the remaining 21 invitations.

PEI Express Entry Category

It is an enhancement to the PNP category and works with the Canadian government’s Express Entry system. Applications are managed through the three economic-class immigration categories through Express Entry.

Express Entry candidates who received the PEI PNP nomination will now get additional 600 points towards their CRS score. It virtually guarantees that they would receive an Invitation to Apply in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

To be eligible for PEI provincial nomination, Express Entry candidates must create an EOI profile with PEI PNP.

PEI Labour Impact Category

This category is focused on foreign nationals who are having a valid job offer in the Prince Edward Island province. They have the support of their employers.

The PEI Labour Impact Category is divided into three streams. The Skilled Worker category, Critical Worker category and the International Graduate category.

Candidates from these categories are required to submit an EOI profile to be considered for provincial nomination.

PEI Business Impact Category

Foreign entrepreneurs wanting to own and operate businesses in Prince Edward Island province are eligible to apply through this category.

A total of 21 invitations were issued in this draw to candidates with a minimum EOI score of 85 points. The ITAs were sent under the Work Permit Stream of the Business Impact category.
