Reforms in the US immigration systems are expected in 2023-2024. One such reform can allow all spouses of H-1B visa holders to work, and not just those who are in the process of applying for permanent residency or awaiting grant of US Green Card. 

A change in the USCIS regulation can bring spouses of H-1B visa holders at par with the spouses of L-1 intra-company transferees that for whom work authorization is “incident to status” of the L-1 visa holder.
