UK’s Young Professionals Visa - 2,400 Spaces available in First Ballot

The UK Government announces that the ballot for the Young Professionals visa scheme will open soon. 2,400 visa spaces available in the first ballot.

On February 21, 2023, The British High Commission in India announced on Twitter that the first ballot for the Young Professionals Scheme will be open from February 28 to March 2, 2023.

What is the India Young Professionals visa scheme?

Under the scheme, Indians between the age of 18 to 30 years can live and work in the United Kingdom for up to 2 years. To be able to apply, you must first be selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot. 

The first ballot for the scheme will be held between February 28 to March 4, 2023. 

Am I eligible for the India Young Professionals visa?

To be eligible, you must be - 

  • A citizen of India
  • Between 18 to 30 years of age
  • With an eligible qualification
  • Having GBP 2,530 (INR 2,51,732 approx.) in savings 

What is the stepwise process to apply for the India Young Professionals visa?

STEP 1: Enter the ballot for the India Young Professionals visa. 

STEP 2: If successful in the ballot, you will get an invitation to apply. 

STEP 3: Get your documents together. 

STEP 4: Apply for your India Young Professionals visa.  

30 days will be allotted to apply after you get an ITA. You must travel to the UK within 6 months of applying for your visa under the Young Professionals Scheme. 

What is the processing time for an India Young Professionals visa?

Within 3 weeks of applying online, proving identity and providing required documentation.

How to enter the India Young Professionals ballot?

The ballot must be entered online. There is no fee for entering the ballot. Keep in mind that you should only enter the ballot if you plan on applying for the visa and can meet all requirements. 

For entering the ballot, you will have to provide your - 

  • name
  • date of birth
  • passport details
  • a scan or photo of your passport
  • phone number
  • email address

Following a random selection, the chosen candidates will be issued invitations to apply. 

When will I get the result of the Young Professionals Scheme ballot?

Results will be emailed within 15 days of the close of the ballot. 

How many will be selected in the Young Professionals Scheme ballot?

There are 2,400 visa spaces available in the first ballot to be held from February 28 to March 4, 2023. 

What happens if I am selected in the Young Professionals Scheme ballot?

You will get 30 days - from the date of the official email as an invitation to apply - for applying online. You will be required to pay the immigration health surcharge and visa application fee within these 30 days.
