- Government Pathway to Immigration
Your path from an international student to Canada PR is made easier.
Time ahead for international students seeking admissions in Canadian universities is exciting. The Government of Canada hopes to welcome over 1.2 million immigrants in the next 2 years.
Here is what the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently announced regarding the immigration targets.
- Grant 401,000 Permanent Residence in 2021
- Grant 411,000 Permanent Residence in 2022
- Grant 421,000 Permanent Residence in 2023
Note the escalating trajectory of immigrants sought by Canada to boost its economy.
The international students in Canada will play a crucial role in enabling the government to achieve these targets.
Students remaining in Canada after graduation will stand to benefit the most. “They will have a clear government pathway to immigration” says Wendy Therrien, the Universities Canada director of Research and External relations.
Marco E.L. Mendicino, the Canadian Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship in his annual report to parliament on immigration said that “Immigrants enrich Canada beyond measure, and no accounting of our progress over the last century and a half is complete without including the contributions of newcomers.”
